You’ve mastered your role,

now it’s time to expand your reach.

The Portfolio Plan is a private diagnostic for accomplished professionals, designing an intentional portfolio career - for greater influence, a more meaningful impact and a deeper challenge.

The process enables you to determine if a portfolio career is for you, what you could create with it and what it would look like, all before you change anything.

There’s more to you…

The accidental portfolio

You may already run a portfolio, even if you didn’t plan it that way.

Your executive role. The board seat that you felt obliged to take. The guest lecture that became an annual fixture. The chapter you keep meaning to write.

Highly qualified people accumulate strands the way attics accumulate boxes — each one made sense at the time, and no one has ever looked at the whole.

Meanwhile the question underneath keeps tugging at you. Is this leading to something?

You've stopped being stretched by the work you're best at. The opportunities that arrive are versions of what you've already done.

And the next promotion you’re up for is more of the same.

A portfolio career, created intentionally, is the answer to that question.

Not a side hustle.

Not semi-retirement.

A deliberate architecture of roles, mandates and work that adds up to a substantial body of work — designed with the same rigour you'd bring to any portfolio worth holding.

Some portfolios are built beyond your organisation. Some are built within it.

The Portfolio Plan helps you decide which — and neither is a resignation.

You don’t have to wait till you ‘retire’ to start building a portfolio.

Plenty of the strongest portfolios keep a current role as the anchor and build influence, reach and challenge around it.

The process doesn’t presume you’re leaving, but it crafts the next step as a deliberate choice that you make for yourself.

A portfolio crafted with intention

The Portfolio Plan is a private, three-part diagnostic:

  1. The Stocktake. A confidential written intake — fourteen questions that take an honest hour or two. What you hold, what energises you, what you keep declining, and your non negotiables.

  2. The Assessment. A personal video, recorded for you alone, in which I work through the whole of your professional life at once: the portfolio you already run, a first read of your through-line, and the shapes an intentional portfolio could take.

You watch it privately, as many times as you like.

  3. The Debrief. Forty-five minutes on a live video call. We test the through-line until you have clarity, work through the questions you’re still pondering and settle on an intended direction — plus we’ll explore the moves that are worth making, whatever you decide.

You finish with three things: a direction for your body of work, an honest read on the shape your portfolio could take — within your organisation or beyond it — and a written record of both.

If deeper design work makes sense afterwards, we can explore that.

Held in confidence, by design

Work like this is market-sensitive and deeply personal. So the process is built for discretion: everything you share is held in strict confidence, delivery is one-to-one only, and if you wish, you can use a personal email address throughout. Nothing arrives with a marketing footer, nothing is added to a sequence, and nothing in writing would trouble you if it were seen. There are no group calls and no cohort. No one need know you're doing this work until you decide what it means for you.

Method, created from a working model

I'm Dr Monique Beedles — and the portfolio career isn't my theory, it's my life's construction. Over thirty-plus years my own portfolio has spanned executive work, research science, corporate strategy, finance, governance and executive education, alongside five published books, board directorships and a Fellowship of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. My coaching practice works with founders, CEOs and board directors on the personal leadership work that everything else depends on.

The Portfolio Plan is my own experience turned into a process you can access.

For you — or not

The Portfolio Plan is built for professionals with substance who already have deep expertise, standing, credentials, networks, and a track record that opens doors.

If you're well established and circling the question of what the next step means for you, this process is the key.

It is not for early-career professionals building a first reputation, and it is not an income-streams product — if the question is 'how do I make money from many small gigs', you may not be ready for this yet.

And if this process shows a portfolio career isn't for you right now, you’ll have valuable insights to take forward with you.

Before you ask

—  Do I need to be leaving my organisation? No — and the process doesn't assume it. At least one of the shapes we'll examine keeps your current role as the anchor.

—  Who will know I'm doing this? Whoever you tell. See the confidentiality commitment above.

—  What if I'm not sure it's for me? That is precisely the state this process exists for. You’ll emerge with more certainty, it’s not needed to begin.

—  What happens afterwards? There’s an option to go deeper into crafting your portfolio, but only if this is right for you now. If it’s not the right time for you, you’ll walk away with valuable career insights.

How to begin

Three years from now, the strands of your career will be forming a thread.

The only question is whether it's something you designed, or something you let happen by accident.

Begin with The Stocktake — to look at your whole professional life and take the next step intentionally.
